By looking at the sales charts, one might think the models competing against the Ford F-150 have finally gotten the edge they've been waiting for for the last 30 years. This is not the case. Because of the retooling of the plant that makes the aluminum-bodied truck, supply has struggled to keep up with demand. Now, the tables have turned.
The third quarter production blitz that Ford has promised is well underway, and it's already showing in the sales charts. In July, Ford moved 66,000 plus examples of its aluminum bodied beast, bringing the total number sold in 2015 to 423,000. As if that's not enough, production capacity will continue to increase through September.
Looks like availability will be heating up, just like this already-hot truck.
