At first glance, it may look like the tweet above shows a bunch of folks burning the midnight oil at Ford's Dearborn, MI headquarters. And while it's true Ford does have some dedicated staff that put in long hours, that's not the reason it's leaving the lights on. Rather, this late night light show is inspired by the monumental victory Ford has just achieved in Le Mans, France.

This past June, Ford took its all-new Ford GT to the Le Mans 24 Hour. This race, for those who aren't familiar with endurance racing, is one of the most prestigious and grueling in the world, as teams of drivers have to compete at high speeds over the course of 24 hours while conserving both fuel and maintaining the integrity of the vehicles, making it a challenge for engineering teams as well. This year, we're proud to say that the Ford GT team placed first in their segment, with another GT team coming in third. What makes this such a momentous occasion is that this year marks 50 years since Ford won all three top spots at Le Mans, a major moment in Ford's motorsport legacy.

As we said before, this victory would not have been possible without the engineering team, who crafted the Ford GT to the same exacting high standards that Ford strives for in all of its new vehicles. So, if you're interested in getting behind the wheel of a new Ford vehicle that shares its heritage with the champion Ford GT, visit us at Capitol City Ford for a test drive today!
